Dr. Sharon T. Hinton (She/Her) has more than thirty years of experience in faith community nursing leadership and is a curriculum writer for the specialty practice. Along with peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Hinton specializes in spiritual care topics for nurses and chaplains as well as authoring multiple journals, devotionals, and self-care booklets.
An expert in her field, Dr. Hinton is board certified in the specialty practice of Faith Community Nursing and in Nursing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, USA. She holds a master’s Certificate in Pastoral Studies and a Doctor of Ministry in Global Health and Wholeness. She is a Board-Certified Chaplain and Supervisor for Clinical Pastoral Education.
Dr. Hinton is the Director of the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing and the Spiritual Care Association Nursing Division. She speaks internationally on topics related to nursing, spiritual care and professional development.
Dr. Hinton has traveled extensively and claims both the mountains of East Tennessee and the high plains of Northwest Texas as home. She is an avid reader and enjoys exploring museums, zoos with tiger exhibits, and second-hand bookstores.
